Lawn care for the new millennium...
...on the cutting edge!
This is what we offer:
• Our standard lawn care program which includes fertility and weed control provides five to six timely applications based upon seasonal conditions. Done through the season, the objective is grow grass with a dense root system that helps eliminate space for weeds to grow.
• We include a “soil amendment” treatment to improve overall effectiveness of the fertility program and reduce normal summer stresses on your lawn.
• If the “standard lawn care program” is not for you, we will customize a plan to suit your needs and tolerance levels for any lawn situation.
Fertilization
Regular lawn fertilization is one of the keys to maintaining a healthy, beautiful lawn. Grass needs three elemental nutrients to nourish and protect it. These nutrients are nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Each lawn is different, and the ideal blend of these three nutrients will vary from lawn to lawn.
Timing also matters when it comes to lawn fertilization. An ideal fertilization schedule will vary depending on whether you have warm-season or cool-season grasses. Start by getting a free quote. We will be happy to provide you with an estimate and fertilization plan that will be the best fit for your needs.
Weed Control
When it comes to combating weeds, the best defense is often a good offense. This means keeping your lawn thick and healthy to keep weeds from having room to grow.
Call on us to help you control weeds in many situations:
• Lawns and turf
• Gravel storage lots or drives
• Cracks and crevices in concrete or asphalt parking lots, driveways, sidewalks and patios
Soil Amendments
Soil amendments are materials you add to soil to improve its physical or chemical properties. Amending soil balances its chemistry and improves its physical properties (water retention, drainage, permeability, water infiltration, aeration + structure) so plants can derive the greatest nutritional benefits.
Pest Control
• Many insects, those above and below the ground, present problems for lawns.
• We'll assess your needs and deliver the right treatment to fight these harmful pests.
• Here are a few of the pests that cause problems here in Central Indiana.
Japanese Beetle & Grub
• The Japanese beetle (Popillia japonica Newman) is a highly destructive plant pest of foreign origin. The adult beetles eat the leaves and flowers of over 300 plants by eating the tissue between the veins, a type of feeding called skeletonizing. The larvae, called white grubs, feed on plant roots and organic matter in the soil, especially under turfgrass. This feeding may result in dead patches of turf that can be picked up like a loose carpet.
Cutworms
• Cutworms are large, hairless surface feeding moth larvae which can destroy patches of turf. Cutworms feed at night and damage the turf by snipping plants off at ground level, hiding in thatch by day. Birds feeding extensively in a turf area may indicate a high population of cutworms.
Sod Webworms
• There are several species of caterpillars called sod webworms that can be highly destructive pests of Indiana lawns. They have even been noted to cause damage in small grain crops such as corn, wheat and oats. Damage to grass is caused by the feeding of the larval or "worm" stage.
